Playback settings also include an equalizer, playlists, stereo widening, and shuffle and loop modes. This Walkman phone also features a flight mode that lets you keep listening to tunes with the phone's network connectivity turned off.

The W995a is also the first Sony Ericsson phone to include the new Media Go PC application, which enables effortless and automatic transfer of any audio, photos and videos between your phone and computer via drag and drop. It features include:

•Automatic sync: Sync your music playlists automatically to keep the phone updated with your new music
•Auto convert: Media Go gives you the best quality playback of multi-media content on a mobile phone. There's no need to use extra applications to be able to bring your media with you.
•Podcasts: Apart from adding your own favorites, the directory is there to help you to find the new and exciting content.
•Audio CD Ripping: Use Media Go to burn your CDs and bring your music and audio books with you
With the TrackID service, you can identify any song that you can hear by just recording a snippet of sound using the microphone. After sending the file for recognition, you'll have the name, artist and album sent to your phone. It also includes a built-in FM radio with RDS, which displays the name of the currently playing song (when tuned to compatible radio stations).

Sony Ericsson's SensMe technology is used to incorporate mood analysis into the track details, which allows you to create playlists that suit your mood. Select SensMe in the Sony Media Go software, and it will mood-analyze all MP3 files on the computer. When you transfer music from a CD or a PC to your phone using Media Manager, the tracks will automatically be analysed. Instead of selecting tracks for your next playlist, just select your mood.

Handsfree communication is easy thanks to the integrated speakerphone. This phone also provides Bluetooth wireless connectivity (version 2.0), and includes profiles for communication headset, handsfree car kits, and file transfer. With the A2DP Bluetooth profile, you can stream your music to a pair of compatible Bluetooth stereo headphones. This phone also offers integrated Wi-Fi networking (802.11b/g), enabling seamless connectivity with wireless networks at work, at home, and on the roam via Wi-Fi hotspots at airports and coffee shops.

Take dazzling pictures with the 8.1-megapixel camera with 16x digital zoom, which can be used just like you would with a standard digital camera by holding it horizontally with the screen acting as your viewfinder. And with the phone's GPS capabilities, you can tag your photos with information on where it was taken. The Face Detection and Auto Focus capability enables the camera to detect and focus on the face of your subject rather than the background, so that you can take sharp and high quality pictures of your friends. The phone also incorporates the latest in lighting technology--Photo Flash--giving you better quality pictures even in low-light conditions.

An image stabilizer compensates for those small movements, reducing the chance that your photo comes out blurred. The BestPic function gives you nine chances to capture the precise moment you want. As well as your shot, the phones take four images as you press the button, and another four afterwards. Pick the one you want, trash the rest. Select the Photo Fix function to improve pictures that you think can be better. In a one-click operation, brightness, light and contrast are adjusted to give you the best possible picture. The phone also provides support for PictBridge technology so you can print your photos without the need of a PC.

The new Nokia N900 Pocket Computer

ESPOO, Finland – The N900 has just leapt out of the depths and is primed to make a splash as Nokia’s debut Maemo device (sorry, couldn’t resist the fishy metaphor). In terms of where the N900 sits on Nokia’s newly broadened product spectrum – courtesy of this week’s introduction of the Booklet 3G – it bridges that wilderness between smartphone and compact laptop. The concept behind the N900 simply being that it enables you to experience a proper desktop-like experience in a pocket-size device.

We’ve gathered all the must-know details and snaps of Nokia’s first Linux-based Maemo handset.

We’re not ones to typically dwell on the numbers, but this is one of those devices where the hardware paints a true picture of its potential. The N900’s pocket computer credentials are validated when you peek into its engine room, which comprises of a powerful ARM Cortex-A8 processor, with up to 1GB of application memory and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics acceleration. Combine all that horsepower with the new Linux-based Maemo 5 software, and the N900 enables you to multi-task as you would on a PC (the Maemo platform was first designed for computers) – this set-up means you can quickly flit between stacks of apps running simultaneously and smoothly.

This fusion of the Maemo 5 platform and significant processing power is brought to life through the now familiar combo of a high-res WVGA touchscreen and full physical slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It also stomachs 32GB of storage, expandable up to 48GB with a microSD card leg-up, and is home to a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics. Plus, other features include A-GPS, an FM transmitter, and up to 9 hours of talk time.

The N900 is geared up to let you browse the web as you would on a PC, with a browser based on Mozilla technology, meaning websites look exactly as they would appear on your desktop. Watching online video and enjoying online apps is also made possible thanks to full Adobe Flash 9.4 support. Couple this with speedy internet access, realized via HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, and the N900 promises to deliver the best pocket-friendly online experience to date.

Anssi Vanjoki is the Executive Vice President of Markets at Nokia, and had this to say about the new N900:

“With Linux software, Mozilla-based browser technology and now also with cellular connectivity, the Nokia N900 delivers a powerful mobile experience. The Nokia N900 shows where we are going with Maemo and we’ll continue to work with the community to push the software forward. What we have with Maemo is something that is fusing the power of the computer, the internet and the mobile phone, and it is great to see that it is evolving in exciting ways.”

The Nokia N900 is inked in the diary to go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2009 in selected markets, and will cost around 500 Euros, excluding the usual regional taxes and subsidies.

It’ll be on display at Nokia World 09, and we’ll be sure to bring you a round-up of the first impressions live from the show floor. Find out more about our Nokia World 09 coverage right here.

Plus, we’ll be posting the world’s first video shortly, so click back within the hour to see it in action.

We’ve switched off commenting for the moment, but it’ll be switched back on in a couple of hours, so please save up your opinions and stop by later to share them right here.

LG Rumor2 Mobile Phone

LG Rumor2 Camera Mobile Phone is one among the latest releases from LG. Being the big bro of the much prevalent LG Rumor mobile phone, Rumor2 retains many features of its sibling like form factor, 1.3MP camera, microSD expansion slot, built-in GPS, etc. This mobile phone comes in two colours; Black Titanium and Vibrant Blue. The rich glossy look along with the interchangeable designer backplates makes this a style statement. The compact design makes it as comfy as a sleek candy bar phone, while the QWERTY keyboard helps in giving enhanced messaging, e-mail and social networking. Although the new row comes with easy to use large numbers, the four-directional ring is slippery. 2” QVGA display is an added attraction of this handset. 18 bit display offers good colour reproduction, and is excellent for viewing photos and videos.

This is a digital dual band CDMA phone but lacks EV-DO support. The voice quality offered by this mobile phone is decent, and searching names, numbers, website bookmarks, etc are some of the voice command applications in this cellphone. Sprint Navigation is available in this mobile phone for a day-pass of $2.99/day or for a monthly subscription of $9.99/month. Multiple formats like MP3, AMR, MID, WAV, QCP, etc are supported by this mobile phone.

Another exciting info about this mobile phone is the availability of free services like Sprint’s NFL Mobile Live and NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile services. The digital camera integrated in this mobile phone takes decent pic, but the disappointing fact is lack of video recording. The Li-Polymer battery used in LG Rumor2 Sprint Mobile Phone comes with 950mAh, and has less than 4 hours talk time and 3 hours stand by time. The downsides of this mobile includes lack of AAC support for music playback, reduced battery life, lack of EV-DO support and video recording. This is a affordable buy for texting addicts and comes with sleeker body, roomier keyboard and much better reception compared to the competitors. Nokia 7705 Twist Mobile Phone

When you first look at the Nokia 7705 Twist, apart from the sure as shooting second take, you realise that you’re not all that surprised deep down. The reason? Because you know that its typical of Nokia to come up with something funky now and then. Presently available exclusively on Verizon in the U.S for $99.99, the Twist deserves to be goggled at. The mobile phone is a perfect square, measuring 2.7 x 2.7 inches. The name Twist is probably because of the unique design that lets you twist and turn it in radical ways. The phone initially looks like a harmless little square; but when you twist it open it takes on a whole new role.

This mobile phone is tailor-made for messaging. When you twist open the phone, you will be met with a full QWERTY keyboard. Having said that it’s a messaging phone, the 7705 supports threaded messaging that lets you converse with ease; supports to email, instant messaging, SMS and MMS is present too. This jumbo button lights up in colours that you’ve assigned for a contact’s message or call.

The camera of the Twist is a pretty good 3.0 megapixel one with flash, autofocus and self-timer. For once you get to be in the group photos you take with your mobile phone – this is one of the advantages of a square-shaped design. Place the mobile at a good spot and run to join your friends for that rib-tickling shot in which everyone’s lost their balance! This is a stereo Bluetooth device and comes along with a decent music player and web browser. Staying in touch will not be a problem with this cute little square in hand, as it lets you blog with its ‘post to blogs’ feature. The Twist also supports VCAST Music with Rhapsody, Video on Demand along with V CAST video streaming. This mobile phone houses a 2.5mm headset jack and promises 4.5 hours of talktime along with a 13-day standby time. On a winding-up note, the Twist looks fresh and is backed by an average set of features. But then, how long can you keep twisting and turning your handset, eh? Wouldn’t you get bored and wish that the thing opened up a bit normally?

Samsung SCH-W880 Mobile Phone Spotted

Wait a minute. Did I hear it right? An 12MP camera phone with optical zoom? Yes. This is no rumour. No speculation. Its official. The world’s first 12MP camera phone with 3x optical zoom is here and it’s Samsung that has come out with this breakthrough. Under the gold-tinged spotlight of today in the Samsung SCH-W880 12MP Camera Mobile phone. Officially announced in Seoul, Korea, this mobile phone will be on sale in the Korean markets from early October.

The Samsung AMOLED 12M has Touch Auto-Focus tracking that is present in most digital cameras. This feature lets the camera automatically follow the target after you select the focus point. The camera of this mobile phone is unbelievable! It can change the scene and mode automatically depending on the target, background and lighting conditions. Apart from this high-end camera, the mobile phone apparently supports Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and comes with a microSD slot.

The Samsung SCH-W880 is technology redefined. Apart from the 3x optical zoom, the phone houses an advanced 3.3 inch AMOLED full touch screen with a 800 x 480 pixel resolution. The phone is more a digital camera with it’s ability to shoot high-quality images. Aspects like the Dedicated Camera Power Key and high quality video recording that offers 30 frames per second are astounding, is this a mobile phone or what?

Samsung Genio Pro Mobile Phone

If you liked the funky and young Samsung S3650 Genio, then the Samsung Genio Pro 3.5G Mobile Phone will not have a tough time impressing you. Looking like a big brother of the S3650, the Genio Pro is apparently aimed at young professionals. The S3650’s splash of colour is carried on to this mobile phone too, as it has colourful interchangeable backplates to suit your taste. This handset features a stylish metallic red slide-out QWERTY keyboard which obviously indicates that it is a messaging device. The Genio Pro has a 2.8″ touchscreen display and works on Samsung’s Touchwiz operating system. The device has a 3.2 megapixel camera which appears to be a pretty decent affair.

Samsung Corby Pro B5310 (known so outside the UK) has downloading speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps, hinting at a super-fast, gratifying web browsing experience. WiFi support will further fuel up the speed. Furthermore, the Pro has WLAN, GPS and HSDPA connectivity. In addition, there is support to Quad-band GPRS and EDGE technology. This phone houses FM Radio, MP3 player and a 3.5mm jack plug. This along with the 100MB of internal memory that is expandable to about 16GB using MicroSD cards sums up an enjoyable musical experience. And ofcourse, social networking. This mobile phone does not leave that out too. Sites like MySpace and Facebook can be accessed with ease, and one can also send updates to multiple sites like Flickr, Blogger and LinkedIn at the same time.

The handset could fill the bill perfectly for an easy going youngster who likes a bit of colour in everything. It measures about 105 x 57 x 16mm and the battery specified is a not-so-huge 960 mAh one. Overall, it looks like the Samsung Genio Pro will emerge a winner, but one cannot be sure as shooting about that, as we do not know the exact price as yet. This mobile phone is to be available in the UK from November. We’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed!

Samsung B3310 Mobile Phone

Looks can be deceiving: This is what I kept reminding myself when I first set eyes on the Samsung B3310. This phone looks a bit er…unappealing. But come on, lets see what you’ve got. Saying this I went on to explore the features of this handset. The Samsung B3310 camera mobile phone is pretty basic. It is a GSM device with a basic 2MP camera with QVGA video recording and a 2” display of a 240 x 320 pixel resolution. It has a slide out QWERTY keypad that is well-spaced and is easy to use. The column of number keys that runs along the handset’s body looks like set of teeth, atleast teeth are easier to use than these garish keys!

Fine, lets not be extra mean and get along to the features of this ugly-duckling. This device supports EDGE, GPRS and Bluetooth 2.1 , though it lacks 3G. MP3 player, FM radio and stereo Bluetooth are all present, so music is a decent affair. Plus the microSD expandable memory option along with the 40MB internal memory only makes things better. Social dudes and dudettes (who are not turned off by the looks) will find this gizmo’s support to social networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook, Picasa, Flickr and Photobucket appealing. Access to these is easy for, the B3310 has shortcuts for most of them.

The handset also supports email and measures 91 x 54 x 17mm with a weight of 101 grams. Text messaging and social networking appears to be this gadget’s forte, given the QWERTY keypad and quick access. The battery is pretty good with a quoted standby time of 380 hours. The Samsung B3310 is now available in the UK with for a cost of £99.95 for the handset. The bottom line is, this ugly-duckling is nothing special, but considering the price, there could be a few takers.
